Consider/Approve Central Chemical Bid for the 2016 – 2017 School Year

Background Information:

In addition to advertising, the Reelfoot Area Consortium solicited bids for the purchase of chemicals (specifications attached). All of these items are for the 2016 – 2017 school year, and funds will be budgeted in the Central Cafeteria Fund for these purchases. The Consortium received bids for these purchases from Auto-Chlor System, Ecolab/Sysco, and JD Distributors and determined that the lowest bid that met all specifications was submitted by JD Distributors.

The consortium approved the lowest bid meeting all specifications (summary attached) as noted above; however, each individual school board must accept the bid.

Staff Recommendation:

I concur with the recommendation set forth by the Reelfoot Area Consortium and Ms. Judy Denman, and recommend approval of the low bid meeting all specifications submitted by JD Distributors . With this approval, it is the intent of the Board and management that no liability will be incurred, nor a purchase order issued, until the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2016.
